Meet The Coaches
 
Ricky Ware

Ricky Ware has been coaching baseball for 25 years. He has coached at every level, little league, AAU, high school, college and professionally. The knowledge learned throughout the years has been beneficial to the development of hundreds of players. He has trained or coached most valuable players, all tournament team players, Saladino Award winners t Tampa area), all conference, all region and players who have been drafted professionally. ware

Ricky began his coaching career in 1991. He was hired at 22 years of age to be an assistant coach for Hillsborough Community College. He was in charge of hitting, defense, and recruiting.

After three years at H.C.C., Ricky was hired to be the Head baseball Coach at Tampa Catholic H. S. For the five years prior to his arrival, T.C. averaged six wins a season. For his two years at the helm, his records were 12-11 and 20-9 respectively. Ricky was also voted class AA/AAA coach of the year in 1994 and 1995. During his tenure at Tampa Catholic, he was an assistant in the player development and scouting department for the New York Yankees organization.

After his two seasons at T.C., Ricky was hired by the Yankees as an instructor in the Gulf Coast League (rookies). He worked for two years with the hitters and catchers. He was then promoted to the Florida State League Tampa Yankees (high A) and worked with the hitters and infielders for two years.

At the end of his six years with the Yankees organization in 1998, he coached one season at Saint Leo University as an assistant coach. Ricky began working with the younger players in the area which prompted him to open Complete Game, Inc. in 2000.

In 2003, Ricky went back to college baseball and was hired to be the Head Baseball Coach back at Saint Leo University. During his six years, his overall record was 154-154, a .500 clip. He had players drafted by MLB every year as early as the 11th round. He was also fortunate to have coached all-conference, all-region, and academic all-american players while he was there. For two summers while at Saint Leo, Ware was the manager for two seasons of the Woodstock Riverbandits in the Collegiate Summer Valley league in Woodstock, Va. He was the first-ever manager for the club and took them to their first post-season. In his second and final season, they were playoff bound as well.

Ricky played his prep career at Plant H.S. in Tampa. He was voted all-conference his junior and senior seasons. When high school was over, he accepted a baseball scholarship to Hillsborough Community College. While at H.C.C., he was voted allconference in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. During his sophomore, and final season, Ricky helped lead H.C.C. to the school's first ever National Championship in 1988. He was voted to the All-Tournament Team at the JUCO World Series. Ricky played his final two years at the University of South Florida on a baseball scholarship. In his senior season, he was voted Most Valuable Player at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. He helped H.C.C. and U.S.F. reach the postseason every year he was a member of the team.

Ricky is married to wife Sherry, and two kids, Zachary, 19 and Alexis, 17.
